The month in progress.

Once a month, we write. Never more, never less. What’s happening in these 30 days — no press filter, no marketing copy.

  1. I

What happens in these 30 days

May is when the Atlantic turns comfortable. Essaouira at 22°C, Atlantic breeze, sea urchins at peak season. Marrakech still tolerable, the Sahara already tightening by day. Our focus this month: three simultaneous trips on the coast, two in the medina, one in the high Atlas. Zero cancellations, zero delays.

  2. II

    Requests this week

47 new requests received. Accepted for design: 12. Reserved for 2027: 18. Declined with explanation: 17. The most frequent reasons for declining this month: groups of more than 10, August dates for the Sahara, nightlife expectations. It’s not about you — it’s about the trip you asked for.

  3. III

    What we’re cooking

A new Driss tour in Fez for 2027 — this time through the hammered-copper workshops. We’re checking that Ali el Kebir can host 4 visits a year (no more). Lahcen has tested a quail tagine with Atlas verbena — if the next test works, it joins the June menu.

  4. IV

What we turned down this week

A request from a Spanish public-TV production company to film a travel show using one of our trips as the basis. Refused in writing: our no-publication policy is the first promise we keep. A request from an international hotel to include us in their affiliate programme. Also refused: zero cross-commissions.

  5. V

    Reading of the month

Mohamed is rereading “El reino del muladí” by Antonio Gala (2003). The Reading list recommended it two years ago, but he’s gone back to it after a call with a traveller pondering the Andalusi imprint on Marrakech. We’ll add it to the May notebook.

Morocco isn’t pretty in May. It’s exact.
